Seizing on the opportunity, 1993 saw the formation of specialty groups within the firm to service specific product niches, leaving us uniquely positioned for making a market.

MNet, the firm’s proprietary software marketing system, is launched, allowing for efficient collaboration between agents across different offices to connect more clients with properties to maximize their reach.

During the 1980s, Marcus & Millichap expands, starting in the Bay Area and moving throughout California and into the Southwest, exemplifying how the company took its first steps towards establishing local expertise in more markets.

William A. Millichap joins the firm after service to our country as an officer in the Navy. In 1978 the firm becomes Marcus & Millichap.

In 1971 G.M. Marcus Co. is founded by George Marcus with a sole location in Palo Alto focused on small to mid-sized private investors.
